Thought: There’s information, and there are filters for that information. Online newspapers have focused on what new information they ought to publish online — it’s worth a harder look at what new filters can be created (like this or this).
On a tangent, yesterday I pitched three categories for the information we’re displaying on the Denver Post’s online community home page:
- What’s new and recent
- What’s hot
- What’s featured and important
That new / hot / featured is a solid set of filters for any online publication.
